Barr Systems,
Inc. designs, manufactures, markets and supports high-performance data
communications products. Our software and hardware products provide
enterprise-wide printing and connectivity solutions to organizations ranging
from Fortune 1,000 corporations to small businesses.
The company
was incorporated in 1978 and is currently headquartered in Gainesville,
Florida. To date, Barr Systems employs more than 110 industry professionals,
who serve an international customer-base that has installed more than 40,000
products.
In 1999, Barr
Systems received ISO 9001 certification and became a Microsoft Certified
Solutions Provider (MCSP), strengthening our position as a world-class data
communications solution provider.
Tony Barr,
founder and president of the company, has made major contributions to the
computer industry. Before building his own company, he created the
Statistical Analysis System (SAS) language and co-founded SAS Institute,
Inc.

Development
Barr
Systems’ team of developers has broad technical expertise and many years
of experience. Our software and hardware products are designed for the
performance-oriented user. Optimization and quality assurance are our
engineering focus from the start of every project. The first phase of
software and hardware testing is completed by the Verification and Testing
Division. Our skilled technical writers produce manuals and on-line help
that are informative, yet concise and easy to use.
Barr products
offer many features to support the capabilities that our customers require.
Those features are added through a process of listening and responding to
end-user requests. By conferring with other developers, and using the latest
hardware and software tools, our developers stay at the forefront of
technology.
Sales and
Marketing
Our sales
consultants are trained technical consultants. Every one has an extensive
background in computing and communications. So, you can have a personal
consultant to help you determine the best solution to your host
communications, print management and/or enterprise reporting requirements.
The same person can usually answer all of your technical questions and
explain your purchasing options. You’ll find working with us to be easier
than with many other vendors.
Working
closely with the sales consultants, our customer relations team follows up
with customers to ensure products and literature are received timely. The
team coordinates with current customers to provide reference sites for
prospective customers and make travel arrangements for visitors to our
facilities. They also work with our international resellers, assisting them
in the distribution of our products worldwide.
New product
announcements and newsletters are examples of communication materials our
marketing department produces to keep you informed about the many Barr
solutions. This group manages the entire creative process from graphic
design, advertising, and product literature, to trade show booth design and
media contact.
Support and
Product Validation
Our
company’s customer service is top priority. We believe that technical
support is a valuable part of our product offerings. That’s why our
highly-qualified support department is fully staffed and trained to answer
your technical questions about Barr products and their environment. Our 800
number is available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST to provide access to
"live" assistance. After hours, we provide On-Call emergency
support 7 days a week.
The Product
Validation Division monitors Barr products to maintain and enhance our
high-level of quality. Members of the support and product validation teams
are uniquely qualified, with years of experience, to provide clients with
excellent service.
Our
Professional Services department consists of experienced systems engineers
that provide complete on-site support, from implementation to training
customers on BARR products.
Our Systems
Integration group can build and customize, to customer specifications, a PC
Server/Workstation with BARR hardware and software pre-installed and
pre-configured.
The new
On-line help for the BEPS product and the Knowledge base on our Web site
round out our industry-leading customer support offerings.
Infrastructure
At Barr
Systems, efficiency is streamlined through the coordinated efforts of many
departments. Strategic planning, organizational structuring, company growth
and direction, are the responsibilities of the corporate department. Our
accounting department handles the many aspects of company finances. The
personnel department is responsible for employee recruitment and relations.
The information services team supports the voice and data needs of the
company with state-of-the-art technology.
